Nicole Winter was born in Munich, Germany and also studied there at the Music Academy with Alfons Kontarsky and Erik Werba.
She took part in Master Classes with Erik Werba and Irwin Gage, won prizes at the Mozart Competition in Würzburg, the German Music Competition in Bonn and the International Competition for Song Accompanists in Den Haag/NL.
Between 1984 to 1987 she was associate professor for vocal coaching at the Music Academies in Munich and Salzburg. Since then, she has worked exclusively as a free-lance song accompanist and chamber music pianist. In the following years she has also been an official accompanist for the ARD-Competition in Munich. In 1991 she became the rehearsal pianist for the Munich Philharmonic Chorus.
From 1994 to 1997 she was the rehearsal pianist for the Bavarian Radio Chorus.
As of 2001 she has played keyboard instruments in the Munich Philharmonic's percussion section.
Ms Winter has accompanied Gregory Wiest on six of his programs.
